Baruch College is one of the five flagship colleges at the City University of New York. Under the tutelage Emanuel Saxe, the college produced a distinguished generation of accounting scholars that made it the pre-eminent New York institution for education and research. As the largest undergraduate accounting program today, Baruch has been ranked first as the nation's most diverse student body-- for five years running -- by U.S. News & World Report. As such, Baruch remains well-placed to for fill a mission of affording an excellent career and personal advancement opportunities for the families of New York City.

Unfortunately, today, this mission of meeting the needs of New Yorkers is under threat. Commercial and political pressures of a right-wing faculty and administration, are usurping the college's original mission, and downgrading both the quality of education and research. This blog shows why this is happening, and what we can do to stop it.
